Visit to Canada by Annick Girardin [fr]
Annick Girardin, Minister of State for Development and Francophony, visited Canada from August 22 to 25 in order to participate in the 5th World Acadian Congress attended by approximately 50,000 participants.

This is the first time that a French minister has taken part in this popular event, which celebrates the vitality of Acadian culture and the French language in North America. The minister of state inaugurated France’s pavilion and reaffirmed the importance of the ties between our country and the Acadian community. She expressed the hope that these exchanges will intensify, notably between young French people and Acadians.
On this occasion, Ms. Girardin met with Christian Paradis, Canadian Minister of International Development and Minister for La Francophonie, to discuss our development priorities.

She also met the authorities of the provinces of New Brunswick and Quebec, notably to review our cooperation in the field of youth.
