Visit of Mr Alain Joyandet in Canada (April, 14-16)
Mr. Alain JOYANDET, Secretary of State responsible for the Cooperation and Francophonie, was in Canada on business.
He discussed, among others, the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed September 26, 2006. The memorandum aims to strengthen joint actions between Canada and France in terms of development cooperation
This trip was an opportunity for Mr. JOYANDET to meet with Ms Beverly ODA, Canada’s Minister of International Cooperation, and Ms Josée VERNER, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Status of Women and Minister for Official Languages.
Mr. JOYANDET also met with Mr. Maxime BERNIER, Minister of Foreign Affairs. In Quebec City, he met Premier Jean CHAREST, as well as the Minister of International Relations, responsible for the Francophonie, Ms Monique GAGNON-TREMBLAY.
