The local OFII office will cease its operations in Canada on December 31st, 2015.
The changing reality of migratory movement no longer justifies a permanent site representing the Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration (OFII) in Québec. The OFII site in Montreal, which opened in 1990, will therefore close its doors on December 31st, 2015.
The Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration, France’s Paris-based national agency responsible for managing migratory movement, has been active in Québec for 25 years. Over the years, it has seen its activities, resources, and priorities change both in France and abroad.
It is in this context of change that the OFII office in Montreal must close. Since its creation, it has provided socio-professional and informative support for French nationals in Québec and, more recently, it provided support for Canadian workers and companies with regard to professional mobility towards France.
