As the latest album from French electro group Daft Punk rides high on sales charts and audio streaming sites (an all-time record number of streams on Spotify, record-breaking plays in the United Kingdom and United States, Random Access Memory in the top position of HMV Canada’s Top 10, best album sales at release in Canada for 2013, #1 on the Billboard charts), an article in Maclean’s reminds us that some credit for the Daft Punk “sound” is due to collaboration with Canadian Bruce Duncan, founder and owner of Toronto-based Modcan Synthesisers.
