Puzzle Danse

In partnership with the Embassy of France, the National Arts Center will welcome the Franco-Quebec program known as "Puzzle Danse" on the 8th, 9th and 10th of February, 2007.

The Puzzle Danse project began in 2002 with the Groupe des 20 de la Région Rhône-Alpes (France) and l’Agora de la Danse (Quebec) uniting French and Quebec choreographers. For this new edition, Jean-claude Gallotta and Isira Makuloluwe for France, and Ginette Laurin and Estelle Clareton for Quebec, created four duos on the theme of departure. After a round of shows in France in 2006, Puzzle Danse will be stopping off in Canada in the beginning of this year.

  • Isira Makuloluwe "Assauts intérieurs"
  • Ginette Laurin "Les Petites Feintes"
  • Jean-Claude Gallotta "Sunset Fratell"
  • Estelle Clareton "FURIES Delta 4/24"

Internationally renowned French choreographer Jean-Claude Gallotta is the director of the Centre Chorégraphique National de Grenoble. Isira Makuloluwe is a young artist originating from Sri-Lanka. In 2000, he started his own company in France known as VIVID.danse.

This network, in partnership with the Rhône-Alpes region, and the Ministry of Culture (DRAC-Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles), acts as a think-tank and offers innovative projects and programs to partner organizations committed to bringing the creative arts for a wide audience.
