The Embassy’s Press and Information Office is the direct link between the Ambassador and the Canadian media. It informs the Canadian media and the public of the official French positions on current affairs and of French policies. The Press Counsellor in Ottawa serves as the Embassy’s spokesperson.
Through the Embassy’s website, the Press and Information Office promotes better knowledge of contemporary France and its various facets, such as its institutions, economy, scientific research, cultural and social dynamics, and sports.
The Press and Information Office also informs the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canadian current issues and affairs, as well as the way in which France is viewed by the Canadian media, the portrayal of its image, and the evolution of the Canadian media sector. The Office is headed by the Press Counsellor in Ottawa and consists of a network of approximately ten agents located across Canada, including Press Attachés and Webmasters.
The Press and Information Office also provides information and answers specific requests and queries.
