Nairobi conference on climate change : France and the fight against global warming

12th Conference of the Parties to the Climate (Nairobi, November 6 to 17, 2006)

The 12th Conference of the Parties to the Climate change Convention and the second meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol took place in Nairobi, Kenya, from November 6 to 17, 2006. These meetings took place in conjunction with the 24th session of the convention’s subsidiary bodies and the second meeting of the ad hoc group on the future commitments of developed countries.

The ministerial segment was held from Wednesday to Friday, November 15 to 17. Nelly Olin, Minister for Ecology and Sustainable Development, headed the French delegation. The ambassador delegate for the environment took part in the proceedings.

The second workshop of the dialogue on reinforcing the implementation of the Convention was held on Wednesday and Thursday, November 15 and 16.
