France to decorate former Canadian ambassador Jacques Roy

On October 27th, the Ambassador of France in Canada, Mr. Daniel Jouanneau, will give the Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur medal to Mr. Jacques Roy, former Canadian ambassador. This presentation will take place during a reception, which will be held at the Embassy at 5:30 p.m.
Mr. Roy has served in the federal public service since 1960 until recently. He held very important positions within the Department of Foreign Affairs. He contributed to the conclusion of the Canada-European Union Agreement. As Ambassador of Canada to France, he contributed to the excellent relations between Canada and France. Mr. Roy has now an active role within the Canada-France Association.
In decorating him, France hopes to recognise his work for the defence and promotion of French, French culture and francophonie.
