Dr. Heap appointed to the rank of Knight of the Order of Academic Palms. [fr]

Today, on International Women’s Day, Dr. Ruby Heap—an eminent researcher in women’s history and Associate Vice-President of Research—is appointed to the rank of Knight of the Order of Academic Palms. Dr. Heap has made significant contributions to the status of women through her original work on women and education and on women and work.

Dr. Heap has also been an active defender of the Francophonie through her dedication to a number of committees, including the Executive Board of the Centre for Research on French-Canadian Culture and the Institut d’histoire de l’Amérique française. She is also a member of the Francophonie with regard to women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

She is also a member and spokesperson for the Association de la francophonie à propos des femmes en sciences, technologies, ingénierie et mathématiques (AFFESTIM) .
