Galerie SAW Gallery invites you to the North American premiere of CINEMIX Norman McLaren, an audiovisual performance by DVJ Oof, from Paris. Commissioned by the National Film Board of Canada in 1996, and first presented at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, this performance work remixes the avant-garde films by Canadian master animator Norman McLaren, while merging electronic beats by Mouse on Mars, Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, Justice and Pink Floyd, among many others.
DVJ Oof, aka Frédéric Elalouf, performs internationally at over 300 clubs, concert halls, museums and galleries every year, and is the resident DVJ at the Cannes Film Festival. He is the artistic director and founder of Ping Pong, an agency that represents independent music labels and artists such as Santigold in France. He has also organized over 130 music events in Paris, and curated exhibitions featuring street and pop art, bridging contemporary art, graphic design, music, dance, fashion, photography, theatre and film.
